Pondok Ramadhan 2022: IISS Distribute Takjil
Pondok Ramadhan activity is held once a year when the holy month of Ramadan arrives, the purpose of this activity is to improve the students’ faith and devotion to Allah SWT, provide an understanding of the holy month of Ramadan, and give the understanding of concepts about the worship undertaken by Muslims. Here the following is a series of Pondok Ramadhan activities at IISS held on 12-14 April 2022.
First day: Material about Worship (Tajwid Material, Prayer Readings, and Prayer Practices). The Second day: Material about Ramadan (Priority of the holy month of Ramadan, Prohibition when fasting, and Story that has moral advice) and The third day: Materials on Thaharah, distribution of takjil, breaking fast together, istighosah, and tarawih prayers)
On the first day, the students were taught material about Tajweed, Tajweed is a knowledge used to read the verses in the Quran properly and correctly. During the lesson, the students seemed enthusiastic about participating in the lesson and they wanted to try to be able to read the Quran properly and correctly. After that, the students prepared to practice reading and movement during the 5 daily prayers.
On the second day, the students learned about the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan. During the lesson, students are taught about what happens in the holy month of Ramadan, what activities can be done in the holy month of Ramadan, and also worship that is prioritized in the holy month of Ramadan. After finishing the material about Ramadan, the students watched a video containing advice and moral values. During the lesson, the students were quite enthusiastic and eager to learn the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan.
On the third day, the students went to school in the afternoon because after the Asr prayer the students would distribute takjil and break their fast together. In the afternoon the students learn about taharah. Taharah is a purification procedure in Islamic law. After the material was finished, the students were very enthusiastic about the next activity. In takjil distribution activity, students and teachers took to the side of the road in front of the school to distribute takjil to motorcyclists and drivers. When sunset arrived, the students began to break their fast together and continued with the evening prayer together.
